Throw Me a Bone s dedicated to rescuing and providing shelter for animals in need. We work primarily to rescue dogs from remote fly-in communities in Northern Ontario, where veterinary care is scarce. Additionally, we collaborate with local First Nation communities to rehome dogs and assist the local women's shelter in situations where pets cannot stay. Our mission is to find loving homes for every animal that comes through our doors.
Throw Me a Bone began as a labour of love to help meet the growing demand for safe places for shelter pets to stay while being given the chance to be rehabilitated. What started as an individual's will to help those in need grew to be a network of animal lovers working together to make life better for Ontario shelter dogs. Today, TMB is a registered non profit, responsible for over 50 dogs spread across various loving foster homes in Ontario. Our rescue is the only one serving Parry Sound and surrounding areas since the SPCA nearby shut down ago over a decade ago. As a grassroots non profit organization, we rely on donations, sponsors , fundraising efforts and adoption fees for funding.
Our team of volunteers work tirelessly to provide the best possible care for our animals. They are passionate, knowledgeable, and committed to our mission.
